Course Description:

​Lesson 1: Intro to La Clave: An explanation of the five stroke clave pattern that represents the core of many Afro-Cuban & Salsa rhythms. Students will learn & demonstrate how to play a clave rhythm using clave sticks, spoons, triangle, and hands.​
• Describe foundation of Latin Rhythms
• Listen to Afro-Cuban/Salsa Music & play Clave along with Songs
• Introduction to the various Latin Percussions such as Congas, Bongos,
  Timbales, Guiro, and Maracas.



Lesson 2: Creating A Percussion Ensemble: An explanation & demonstration of the various ways of combining Latin percussion instruments to create an Ensemble.
• Describe foundation of an Ensemble
• Listen to Afro-Cuban/Salsa Music & play along with Songs
• Demonstrate Percussion Ensemble with Children, playing Congas, Bongos,
  Timbales, Guiro, and Maracas.



Lesson 3: Performance: Prepare Students for a short Percussion Ensemble Piece.​
• Select a Latin Song to perform with Children & Practice

• Set to Perform at a Venue with The Children.
